Long and overdue: V a c a t i o n

There's just something about Eastern Washington. The heat, the dry air, and most of all the SUN! What a way to recharge after feeling like a mushroom for so many months being in the Puget Sound area. We stayed at one of our favorite parks, Wenatchee Confluence. As luck would have it, there was a hot rod show taking place the weekend we were leaving, so I was able to capture some photos of some of the participants who were camping at the park.

We took road trips everyday to some areas we were familiar with, and those which were not so familiar to us. The photo you see above, is the Highland schoolhouse. By now it's a shell of its former self, filled with graffiti, tattered walls and other character. It sits in the middle of a farmer's wheat field. I like the fact that he hasn't decided to remove it entirely. He grows his crop around it.

I also had the thrill of meeting some hang gliders, who were testing out their new gliders which were just built for some customers. We learned a few things about hang gliding while talking to one of the guys' friends and how they are able to fly for long distances at times when the conditions are right.

It was a vacation of meeting new faces, and capturing new things. This was one memorable vacation for this girl! (c;
